A field trip for students of the Geology Department
Within the framework of the advancement of the educational process and in compliance with the field training plan, today, Thursday, corresponding to 02.02.2023, the Department of Geology conducted a geological field study for the Aziziyah area - Bir Al-Ghanam for students of the courses
GE324 and GE399
To get acquainted with the field relations of the explorations of the Azizia Formation (Triassic) and to study the explorations of rocks in the following areas: - Al-Kedwa - Ras Al-Saadani - Ras Al-Lafaa - Ras Al-Maslati - Ras Qalib Sultan - Ras Al-Qatar.

In addition to the geological structures that witnessed the complex tectonic processes that the region was exposed to during different geological stages. And teaching students how to use Global Mapper v8 in geological mapping, which is one of the applied programs specialized in geographic information systems.
This is in addition to training them on how to collect field data and use them in drawing geological maps at different scales according to organized scientific bases.
