The Department of Mathematics at the College of Science celebrates the International Day of Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics at the College of Science celebrated the International Day of Mathematics today, Tuesday 14/03/2023, at Martyr Rashid Kaabbar Hall.
The celebration was attended by:
Prof. Omran Al-Qayeb, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Prof. Dr. Khaled Aoun, President of the University of Tripoli.
Dr. Khaled Gouma, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, University of Tripoli.
Prof. Ramadan Al-Jedi, Dean of the Faculty of Science.
Dr.. Jamal Ender, Vice Dean of the College of Science for Scientific Affairs
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Jaziri, Head of the Mathematics Department.
M. Osama Huitah, Director of the Public Activity Department at the university.
Dr. Osama Al-Azraq, the captain of the faculty members at the university
Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Dweik, Vice President of the Cultural Forum at the University.
The ceremony opened with a fragrant recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.
It was immediately followed by the reading of the national anthem.
Welcoming speeches were addressed to the attendees and participants, and perhaps the most prominent speeches witnessed in the celebration were: the speech of the President of the University of Tripoli, who in turn welcomed the honorable attendees, wishing them success and success, followed directly by the speech of the Minister of Higher Education, who expressed in his speech his pleasure for attending this celebration and called for a serious consideration of the Curricula and methods of teaching mathematics. After that, the Dean of the College gave a speech in which he welcomed the attendance, stressing the role of the Department of Mathematics in the College of Science, as it represents a historical role at the national and Arab levels. The Head of the Department of Mathematics delivered a speech on the occasion, in which he presented a historical overview of the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science at the University of Tripoli since its inception in 1957, stressing the importance of the role of the department in improving education in Libya for mathematics curricula as it is the oldest department in Libya and at the level of the Arab world, stressing the importance of the mathematics course For students of applied sciences and the role of the department in that at the university for most of the faculties, he recited a poem of approximately fifty verses in which he explained the benefit and importance of mathematics in all scientific and practical disciplines.
The program continued with a presentation by the coordinators of study, examinations, quality, postgraduate studies and curricula in the Department of Mathematics, followed by a valuable intervention by Professor Dr. Taking into account the recommendations and proposals that were dealt with today, everyone praised this distinguished celebration this year. The Mathematics departments of both the College of Education, Tripoli and the College of Education, Janzour, participated in this celebration.
